day 5
woke up, started her up bewdiful,
took off down freeway,, ok, but still worried bout auto heat etc,
so pulled into nexxt town,,morrisete, found couple mechanics, got one to redo bitza cooling pipes, i had done,, and we put another radiator in as well,, should be the coolest t400in aus???
remembering i had to make do with what i had,, and had not even taken this for a test drive,,just jumped in, and drove to queensland,, after the conversion..
anyways this bloke is helpful, so got him to put gas on,,
staying here overnight, will have gas on in the ,morning,
only one other thang to get 100% water temp!
it has been varying from 85c to 98c,, not serious overheating, but will try to get it slightly betterer

day six,
still here in morrisete, this bloke is unbelievably all at sea??
yesterday we started to get gas on??? he quoted me 2k, all he has to do is bolt the cradle to the van floor, [4 bolts, run the gas and filler pipes, connect the mixer, and connect the elec,,it is all sitting in ready? the space for gas bottle was already done?
he had a gas bottle already? he was going to send back from a cancelled job, i mean everytime he starts to do anything his mobile phone rings and he stops!! mostly it is his family as well?
he knows what he is doing, but he is so disorganized,, i actually have virtually cut and made the cradle myself?
}funnily i threw a gas cradle out last week, which is exactly what we have had to make?]
so i am stuck here another night??
my mixer has been sitting for a couple years, dont know whether it is good, dont mind using it, if it is ok,, if not he will have to supply one, it even has all the wires and circutry already in, ready to connect?
i got him to do a half hours welding on the rear towbar set up, but apart from this he has wasted 1/12 days piss farting around disorganizing other things, and not getting anything actually done??
how he manages to stay in business i will never know.
anyway hopefully will be gone by lunch time tomorrow??
touch wood will have ironed out all the kinks?
and have truble free grey nomadding experienced, geetting my kicks from root 66..!!
cheers

this engine was set up with gas when i got it out of a vb sle,,
it certainly has had work done on it, and is obviously a motor and a half,, because it has crome rocker covers!! [whoa]
i am guessing it does have the heads done for gas?? he has tuned it, and the gas is set up for being slightly lean,
towing this weight, it does not change down quickly enough, it keeps going on a hill, right down to under 1800rpm,
so i thinkit needs some sort of adjustment for change ddown??
it does 100kph at 2450rpm.
which is low for this weight/trailer,, might be fine and dandy without trailer??[700k,s]
a work in progress, and a fine piece of aus design and construction,,
wait till i put the >>from this to this,, pics up!!!!
heheheh
ewes blokes are all gunna be gobsmacked!!!
as these big wheels keep on turning..
cheers

hahaha i would love to see a pic of the rig

gas likes the timing to be a little more advanced, say about 11-12 deg, and the plug gaps opened up a little, 1.5mm if you have a HEI dizzy (you should have if the donks from a commie)

How far North are you going BCB? Cleveland isnt a bad place to be. Some really nice spots a few hours further north. Good to see you bypassed the Gold Coast. Its a bit of a rip off place here.
