Hey jim.
That sounds amazing convo.
I got pulled over last month, and mr and mrs plod, did the checks, and found my boat trailer was unregistered!!!
They were really good about it all, and allowed me to drive to the next stop.
But you should have seen mr plod, walking around the mad max machine?? It was priceless! Checking tyres, etc. he did not know what to think?
Now i am getting a 98 falcon longreach. Ute.
And it looks normal! Strewth! Wont be able to cope with that?
Lets see,,, hhhmmmm? Better get some bull horns for the bonnet. Big spotties, huge antenas.
And, and and a r m williams hat. That should just about cover it, oh. Forgot, an huge oversized roo bar.
Cheers

Well men, the greyer than most campervannerers, is about hang up his lead boots!! And settle down, Yes yes I know, hard to believe. I am about to build a little house on the island!
Just finished knocking up the plans, (Before I became a rev head nomad, I was a builder and designer)
The street name, believe it or not, Is 'basket beach rd! Guess that's going to make me the basketcase from basket beach,
I will be building it out of 3 shipping containers! Although no one will know it is built this way.
Will post plans so all youz blokes can admire the smooth clean lines of her??

Sounds good. I've followed a few container builds, and the results can be fantastic.
Cheers,

There was one on Grand Designs Australia where they built the whole multi-story home from shipping containers. Some areas you could tell, others they purposely left remnants as features. You can read about it here:

http://www.lifestyle.com...le-container-house.aspx

But just search for "shipping container home grand designs Australia" in Google and look at the images page.

Here is one link, the third picture down shows where they used the doors as features:
