Gday all,
I was wondering if a set of 15" wheels off a VT Commodore will fit on a VR Commodore? or are they a different offset. I think I remember someone saying there was a slight difference between early and late model commodore wheels, and I did a search, but couldnt find anything. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

I know pre-wb series you need offset mags. Dont know enough about VB onwards.

There are differences in the offset, but its usually OK.

What sort of VR are you fitting them to?
If its IRS, you may have some clearance issues on the rear. If its the ute that your username alludes to, then it should be fine.

The only other prob is if you fit wider tyres (say 225, rather than 205) the shoulder of the tyre can come in contact the spring seat section of the strut, because of the offset.

Cheers,

Mick

Thanks for the replies guys, and yes commodorenut, it is the ute I am putting them on. I have a mate that has a really nice set of 15"x7" VT mags that I like, that he will let me have for a song, but I needed to know if they would fit before I commit to buying them. My standard 205s should fit on a 7" rim I gather? I am not sure of the width of my standard VR ute rims, does it say it on there somewhere? I couldnt see it anywhere. Thanks again for all the help.

No probs Russ.

Standard VR ute rims are 15x6"

Holden fitted the same 205/65/15 tyres to the 6" wheels on your ute, and also the VR SS (which became VS S) wheel - which is 15x7" - so youll have no issues, neither physically, nor legally, with fitting those tyres.

I would try them with the existing tyres first - you may just have enough clearance.
