hi guys, i want to find a complete 253 engine from air cleaner to flywheel. i need all the std manifolds, carby ect as it came out of the factory. i am in perth w.a. but now i mite have to look in other states. thanks robert

I think there is one in a HZ at ClassicOzWreck.Give Greg a call.

Make sure whatever you buy you get what you need. There is 2x different spec inlet manifolds in HZ (early and late). There is also auto and manual engines (manual have no EGR). Some will have viscous fans too (factory air I think).

Late LX Torana engines will also have all you want. If you have a late HZ a VB Commodore engine will too.
Just remembered there is a water pump spec change in there somewhere as well.

my van is a 6/78 hz. witch motor is it? early or late?
dose anybody have gregs phone number? what state is he in? thanks robert w.a

As for a 6/78 thats close to the introduction of VB Commodore which I think is where the engine spec changed so I cant tell you for sure. You might want to look at a few original HZs from the same plant as yours for the same month. Someone else here might have a better idea. Ill ask for you over in the Holden general discussion area.

i have a red 253 that is in my hz ute.
unsure of kms but its a great runner.
has a standard manifold and a 350 holley on it with a k and n filter
also has chrome rocker covers
the motor and box can be heard / driven
located in tuart hill w.a.
price is $400 ono and i can arrange delivery depending on price
