Hi there,

Im looking for the VK commodore 202 EFI specs, as there are some accuracy issues with the degreeing and lift that has been specified by some camshaft makers.

I have been directed here, via oldholden.com and If anyone knows Dr Terry here, could you get him to contact me at: [email protected].
I've been told that he has the actual correct specs for the cam. cheers.

What I sent you is the profile as measured off the cam lobes for #1 cylinder using a degree wheel and a dial guage. The most important aspect of the EFI cam is a delayed inlet closing to take advantage of the pressure boost created by standing waves in the inlet runners. You could easily make the cam slightly bigger in lift, duration and overlap but make sure you keep some delay in inlet close compared to a single carb cam grind.

Thanks Byron,
THe info you have provided me has been very useful. Knowing that I cant buy an EFI replacement cam with the exact specs, Im considering doing a custom grind that is near the same as the genuine factory one. I may consider a slightly higher lift, and a little more duration on the intake. Also, I was wondering why the exhaust timing is so quick on these cams? Do you think that its designed to increase dynamic compression?

go to holden and then hyd 202. I presume the black efi specs on there are std.

THanks champ,

I checked out this site earlier because another dude directed me to it. It isnt very accurate as it states that its a 20/0/60/20 cam, but apparently because of the long runners in the efi intake, it needs to open up earlier and close later on the inlet. Also apparently the exhaust has a shorter duration something like 60/40 on the exhaust. Dynotec sells a pc202 camshaft, which is the most accurate that i can find at the moment, but I may have to get a custom ground camshaft done to get what I want.
