hi need some info for the first leters for a 253v8 for a hj sandman rebuild because all models are different ... any helep would be appreciated

The engine prefix should be QR... with appropriate cast date to match car build date etc.

so if the van was built in 75 the engine number would read QR 75 then the rest of the numbers???? is that right cheers...

No, QR then a sequential number for Holden 6cyl and V8 (except Chev) that started at the start of HQ production. If you dont have the original engine dont worry about finding one close, any HQ-HZ 253 will do.
