Look at his user name 41 Willys Coupe. Hes a Rodder with a handle like that.
Rodders dont care for the purity. Built the way he liked it.

Id think hed be happy with $50k. It is a HG to start with, and a 6cyl GTS that has been modded. Have a look at the US Muscle you can buy for that sort of money and its about right. Its only the fools paying that sort of $ for XY GT replicas that make it look cheap.

This one is probably a better car and doesnt even have a bid on it for the $50,000 no reserve price.

Yet someone goes and pays $10,000 for this rusty heap and then spends the next 12 months or more cutting, welding and beating the body, trying to find the missing parts in reasonable condition and all the headaches that go along with restoring a car. Assuming he does most of the work himself he may end up with a car worth a little more than it has cost him to restore.

Question???? How much do you guys think it would cost to restore a car in this condition back to original condition??

Why do you say its better? It is only a V8 base model and doesnt look as nice as the other replica

The other one is only a 6cyl GTS model. Both are done up as GTS350 replicas, dont see how what they started out as has any relevance to final value. At least the Monaro was a V8 model and still wears its original trim and paint and judging from the description and pics I personally think it is the nicer car. The seller also has the balls to start the bidding at the price he wants for it, one bid and you own it for a not ridiculous price of $50,000.

byron,
I agree, but there are plenty of fools still buying replicas, i personally wouldnt spend that sort of money on either a monaro or a falcon, especially when you can get some really good deals on US stuff, so even at that price, its not bargain buying IMHO. At least when you are buying a replica Falcon, there is really nothing to hide, it is a replica, not made out to be genuine as was the case with that white HK 307 coupe last year, a saga that continues to go on and on and on, but with a falcon, its a tuffer car immediately even in standard guise, and no one will ever hassle you but saying its a dud cos from day one you know its a mocka, and have nothing to worry about.

maybe these so called fools that are crunching the owners of well built replica GT falcons to a reasonable price are having the last laugh when they see the squabbling over a supposedly incorrect stamped 6 cyl monaro that now is a 350 car that someone like D.A Barnes, Itch or my good self has seen and judged

Regrdless of what it is supposed to be.

Many people like myself appreciate a car on its presented merrits, well put together with attention to detail with the little imperfections rubbed out and the odd period subtle change that blends in and gives the car its own persona. But hey, people generally only believe what they want to believe and only see what they want to see.
