I have a HQ Statesman, with a mild red 308 and T5 gearbox. I have spent quite a bit on the car, and will hang on to it for a long time. The rear main seal desperately needs replacing, as well as others, and never runs that well anyway (off the road at the moment, will crank over but not start, only roll starts then runs fine)
Anyway, as the motor needs to come out regardless, would I be better off going for an injected motor? I can get an injected 304 with everything i need for a conversion (ex VQ statesman, only 70,000 kms) for $2500.
How much work is involved in such a conversion? Would I need a new bellhousing for the T5? (Aussie pattern 308, AU 6 cyl box)Has anyone done a similar conversion?
Thanks, Nick

Keep the bottom end you have & add an EFI pattern cam & top end (heads, manifold etc) otherwise you need to stuff around fitting a restrictor in the filler neck, later pollution gear, and cat convertor(s).

That way you could keep your current bellhousi
Cheers,

Mick
