I have an opel 4 in my lx and im converting it to a 6 red.Just wondering what manual gearbox would be best to use to enshure i dont have to cut or modify my original floor shift posistion,Also any other tips or knowledge in regaurds to the conversion would be appreciated.I have a UC v8 k frame and i have been informed i will also need to change the diff centre and tailsharft.The gearbox cross member i am unshure of.Once i have made it a 6 will i need a mod plate in qld ? as its all bolt on components or will a new rwc cover it?.Cheers for any input

Off topic,are the 3300 boot badge holes the same as the 1900 holes ?

Yes youll need the UC 6cyl or Starfire 4 crossmember (not V8 as there is no such thing).

What box is in it now? If its a manual itll be an MC6 which you can use behind a 6cyl.

If its a manual itll have a 3.9:1 diff which you dont really want. If its an auto itll be a 3.36 which will be OK.

Youll need a 6cyl tailshaft as from memory the box has to be moved backwards so your existing shaft will be too long.

I dont think you can get away without moving the shifter location with a manual.

It has a 4 speed manual opel box
