I was out the other day and spotted these while driving around. Nice original condition HQ Kingswood ute and a Infra Red SS. Both appeared to be in original one owner condition from what I could see as an older couple were pottering around in the yard.

The SS had sun fading and crazing on the roof and bonnet but the interior looked to be in great condition and the car appeared rust free, both cars had original black and white Qld number plates and are currently registered.

That Kingswood ute would be nice. Id love an original untouched bench seat HQ Kingswood ute. Fitted with original hubcaps. And BBC and column shift TH400 of course!

Hi Paul, yes I got your email and sorry there is not much else I can tell you about the SS. I was on my way to my next job and actually stopped to look and the land next door that was up for sale, I took the photo from inside the car when I noticed the SS and ute parked at the back.

I did discretely have a closer look when I walked down the back beside the fence but as the elderly lady was keeping a wary eye on me I didnt take any more photos of the cars and couldnt really scrutinize them too much as I didnt want to invade their privacy. It was just nice to see original condition cars that were obviously still in daily use, the ute certainly was anyway and I thought Id share them with everyone.

All I can say is it appeared to be a series 1 with houndstooth trim and painted on stripes but that was from at least 10 feet away.

well, for that sort of car this is what you would do,
remove engine and box, remove rear seat, cut out floorpan from just behind front seats, get a set of 15 x 14 MAGNUMS with a 32"tyre and make tube moly chassis and nice tubs, put a fatty in it with a 300 shot of gas in it with a nice glide and 5800 convertor and then go cruising.
all the stuff you took out of it,like mint console, door trims, dash, all that stuff, ohh and the rear floor pan, you put on ebay and sell it all off as "mint genuine bathurst HQ stuff"
1 important thing you do, is not remove the TAGS, as then the car is virtually unsellable because the rivots and tags have been removed
get the idea??
