As part of the younger generation I dont like the V8s I tend to watch drags, speedway, and historic racing just cant sit and watch the V8s bore the hell out of me. I agree that they should mix it up with other 4 door production cars instead of the Holden vs Ford caper.

If you can find it or buy it, the "visits to the vault" on the late night sports show that was on ABC1, the one hosted by "the Wog" off kingwood country, gave you a great insight into what production racing was all about, eg a race would start & the marshals would be just hopping over the hip high fence, his only protection form certain death was from the knee high socks & sandles he was wearing. you also got to see what real motoX is & stockies running around dirt tracks. a very cool history leason.

I wanted to write a book about bathurst for the littlens, it was going to be called, "watch dick duck" the follow up would be "Dick gos on a bush walk". lol.

Thanks: 2 times
IMHO, V8 Supercars has evolved into this highly expensive, tightly controlled, everything out of the same mould boring & predictable commercial extravaganza. Having grown up with better options I know how much more exciting motor sport has been in the past, but am realistic enough to know that as with most things in life what the punter wants is normally the last thing that will happen.

So yes Casper its evolved, I dont particularly like what its evolved to so I dont watch it anymore, me and quite a few others by the sound of things.

Maybe I should have said "I" have moved with the times?

Dont get me wrong, I still like a night on you-tube flipping through all the old footage and watch the Biante series when it is on the TV.

I also spend a lot of time wandering around the pits on club days looking at all the older cars.

But the technology in the V8 supercars amazes and enthuses me.
