Am looking at an original HT gts monaro which was factory 253. It has the reare orange houndstooth trim also. Orange paint so on so on. THe shell only runs a banjo diff and no Hump press at the fuel tank which i thought denoted six cylinder.

Also it has a m21 gearbox behind it but the floor pan has the saginaw pressing. What gearbox is correct etc please help? IS it saginaw or Aussie,

many thanks

a 253 4 speed HT GTS would have the following:

M21 4 speed saginaw
3.08 or 3.36 banjo rear axle with no floor pressing.

Other signs on the car would be radius rods.

Salisbury rear axles were only fitted to:

308/307 manuals, 327 and 350, 307 and 308 auto GTS and optional on 307/308 auto in other HK to HG except brougham, all other cars had a bonjo rear axle.
