I am currently restoring a HG van and I have in my possession a Stromberg listing, which needs clarification.
On the list, it mentions that a HR/HK/HT/HG 6 cyl manual 1966/71 is a BXV2 and code no 23-3020, and the HR/HK/HT/HG 1966/71 6 cyl automatic is a BXV2 code no 23-3014.
Whereas, the HR/HK/HT/HG 186S 6 cyl manual 1967/69 WW code no 23-201, 23-201A or 23-201B 1967/69 and the HT/HG 186S 6 cyl manual is a WW code no 23-3035.
What is the difference between a BXUV2 and a WW in terms of power/ease of use and why did Holden change carbies?

Yes, the WW2 is a 2 barrel. Also found on red 253 V8s. It was a factory performance mod for the 186 on the 186S engine.

As was stated with the BXV being single and WW being twin. As ive been informed, the WW will give the about the same performance levels as an X2 style twin setup (two small BXV single carbs) but doesnt run overly rich at cruise like the twins and wont come out of tune.
If your motor is stock or mild, just run a single barrel. Simple and easy. |
