Over here in WA if you are caught doing something a bit radical (spinning your wheels etc...) Then your car is impounded on the spot and towed away to a holding yard. And finally if you have had 3 strikes they may crush your car. My problem is that the state has no right to take your car, as when you purchase your car you have a contract of sale and the state is not a 3rd parth to your transaction. The state has the right to prevent registration of any motor vehical (using VIN id) and then that motor vehical can never be used on public roades in that state ever. So its up to the owner to ship it interstate to sell to get their money back. Have you guys got any thoughts on this topic????

Up here in Qld they just take your car and auction it.... that way the fool that had it taken off them can buy it back, go make some smoke and have it taken off them again - and then they can buy it back and.....
As above, save it for the track. When you get a licence you enter into a contract with the govt. When you purchase vehicle rego again, you enter into a contact with the govt... you break any of the conditions of that contract and its all over. The cops on the other hand, well they can do what they like and its up to you to spend the money proving they were wrong (if they were)...

in vic we also have the 3 strike rule
1st time they impound your car for 48 hours and a fine
2nd time they impound your car 28 days and give you a HUGE fine
3rd time they confiscate your car and send it to the auctions
it doesnt go by the car it goes by the driver, you can get caught in 3 different cars
so far there has been only 1 person get caught 3 times, to get to this stage you have to be pretty damn stupid, and probly deserve your car removed from you, as the rest have said, there are places to go for hooning, its not for the streets

when im PM of this country, i will get a crew together thats drives around with a car compactor. any dills being caught hooning, or weaving in and out of traffic or talking on phones or just speeding and being silly, will be crushed on the spot and then issued with a fine to remove the squashed wreck from the side of the road.
if caught again, they get left inside the car when its squashed...

ooooh man, kids with no seatbelt gets me really fired up!!
On the news the other night I think they said 30 something cars had been auctioned up here... youd have to be a fool though!
