What 12+ years of sitting idle looks like!

Now has new;
Front trim
All brakes, calipers rebuilt, wheel bearings
Clutch
Radiator and hoses
Points, plugs, condenser, dissy cap, rotor and leads
All welsh plugs
Waterpump
Crash pad
GTS wheels
And most importantly new oil and water :-P

Rust repaired:
Lower guards
Nose cone
Radiator support replaced

New carpet and big nut master cylinder to be installed

Still needs?:
Everything else done!

Frank,
Ill keep it clean and refrain from making comments about bogging a women but anyway! The one thing i agree with is driving them, just got enough done to cruise around and enjoy, the paint and everything else can wait for me to save some $$$. Just need to find some cool old boom box to chuck in the back seat, still running an airchief and dont fancy hitting the road listening to AM radio, not that it even has an aerial ATM!

Oh it will be staying original my friend, matching numbers and all, Im sure you understand....if i ever stumble across a coupe which is complete less motor i would love to whack a BB in it, its hard not having a car i can just mess with like the blue one.
My mate with the Fairlane rang me today to tell me to not waste money on getting it painted and spend the cash on airbags instead, so maybe a 572, airbagged, convertible is on the cards for summer?!

Haha I wish the HG was mine, genuine GTS 350.
Its owned by a good friend who had come to inspect the red coupe with me as he does alot of resto work on these old things. i wanted a second opinion on the car and after i bought it he offered to help me tow it too. He has had the car for 20+ years roughly and as you can see is not afraid to drive the car which is the way it should be. Certainly turned a few heads and even received a few offers on the way home!

hqgts - You obviously know the car and the owner, I would never dare mention ANYTHING about the HGs top not being original, i got the story once and its something he is clearly passionate about!

BronsonHX, Basically i started working part-time and saving when i was 16 and luckily back in 2002 when i hit 18, most people still regarded GTS sedans as parts cars so they were still relatively affordable. Im still studying now at uni but work 4 days a week too and have a social life, bit of a juggling act but you have to be prepared to push yourself sometimes.

Yes, thats the HG at Clunes, which was a good run and a great day. Since then it has been in for some cosmetic surgery and is getting ready for the 2010 Nationals.

Ill be seeing Chris soon so ill just have to throw it into conversation :-)

65ehpv- The car looked good at the Nationals, what are you getting done? I really dig the vinyl roofs, nearly bought a silver HQ GTS which had a black one (offer ended up being $400 short of selling price. URRR!), nice to have something different.
