Hello ,how do you go about removing the rear window winder.Winder just spins at the moment with no window movement.Window mechanism is stuck with about 15cm of rear screen up. So far I have removed the window.Is it necessary to remove the complete mechanism inside the rear tailgate or can the winder be removed from outside to find and replace the problem?

It might be a job for a locksmith.
Doesnt the external handle simply freewheel, with the lock in the locked position ?

Yes it does when locked. I have tried it both locked and unlocked.It actually packed it in halfway through winding it up.
