Hi All
I need help from the sandgropers out there.
With summer coming on i want to put tinting on the HJ 4 door.
Unfortunately, the current windows (exc the windscreen) are a bit scratched (i think someone did it sanding the car back for a respray some time ago) and they are telling me the tint will look s***e.
I have called a couple of mobs and they tell me that they cant get new glass except for the front and passenger doors.
I am wondering whether anyone in WA has glass for sale that i can buy for installation (or alternatively whethere any of the members would be willing to part with good clean used glass).
While i am at it....I am looking for the spare tyre rod and knob for the boot (i have the mechanism on the boot floor but not the bits to hold the tyre down).

Not that ive bought glass from anyone but i was under the impression that Rare Spares sold glass.
You might want to try them in Osborne Park.

I have called rare spares (as i saw the listing as well) and they have told me that they no longer stock it and couldnt give me any ideas about where to get it.
I am looking everywhere now.
I would have thought that getting glass would be easy....
But i shudder to think how people go with the hk-g-t type stuff.

No worries mate worth a shot. What about getting a glazing place to custom make them by using your original windows as a template..??? May get expensive though. Theres got to be someone out there. What about the glass companys like Windscreen Obrian. www.protector.com.au (just found these guys on the net).

best bet is to pick up some rusty doors off ebay or at the next swap in your area, other than that try obrians or novus, they should be able to help you out.. otherwise its wrecker crawling.

I have managed to find 2 places, 1 was a wrecker in Maddington (AAA Honda/Holden). He had a heap of stuff there and he let me go through what he had. All used, but in better condition than mine (which i have been told are well and truly buggered).
I also found a restorer who tells me he has a number of full sets of original windows which are new and havent been used (though he didnt go as far to say as he would part with them if i didnt use him for a respray). I can only try.

Sorry, i should say, i tried heaps of windscreen repair mobs and none of them could find any glass other than a front windscreen.
