The Funeral Company I work for has just changed the fleet of Mourning Cars over 3 weeks ago to the new Statesmans with the SIDI engine, and all I can say is What a beautiful car to drive!!! so smooth and responsive. When you put that foot down she snaps to attention so fast it is incredible. All the families I have taken in them so far have commented on how beautiful and comfortable they are inside. Up until 3 weeks ago we had Fairlane Ghiahs, which were nice, but the Statesman is definitely more of a pleasure to drive, all the controls are very user friendly. They are now talking about a long term plan to change all the hearses over to Statesmanss as well, and I cant wait for that day!!

i want my last ride to be in a chev powered holden..... not one of those 6 cylinder fairlane wagon thinges lol.

We all know how popular street machines and rods are for weddings. Wonder if theres a market for the same sort of people when they pass away? Fleet of black rods or street machines with a blown hearse maybe? |

Why not, Ive seen a Harley with a sidecar setup to carry a coffin. Maybe an enclosed glass sided trailer to be towed behind the deceased ones favourite wheels. Or a dedicated (cant resist the pun there) hot rod hearse, who said it has to be all quiet and sombre anyway.

There is a Funeral Director in Sydney that has a Hot Rod Hearse, I see it around Pinegrove Cemetery from time to time, goes down well with the Hot Rod enthusiasts, although he uses his standard hearse most of the time, only see the Hot Rod one around a couple of times a year. I havent been close enough yet to actually see what model it is, but it looks fantastic from a distance.
