Hi all, I am just after a rough idea on what a vehicle like this could be worth. Found it last week tucked away in a shed in Country NSW, so there is zero rust. Last registered in 1972 and has been in there since. Not sure on the colour as I couldnt open the doors too much and had a layer of dust covering it, it could have been white. I tried looking inside but a bit dark to see, I think it had brown door trims.

$3000. Get it out, rip out all original trim, chop the roof a bit, two door it, tub it, 6.0 litre L98 Gen4 powerplant and some 18 or maybe 20 inch wheels. Heaps cheaper than starting with a rusty heap. If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |

Mate, get it out of the shed, lift the bonnet and get the compliance plate details, jot down the odometer and take a few piccies.
Hard to say what it is worth, but based on your forst description i would agree with Petes 3 - 4K

Here is a link to couple of pictures I took on my phone. The car is 400kms away but will be back that way again soon. I do also know where there is an EJ under cover and an EK Sedan along with a very old ski boat with a 186 motor in it that has been parked under a shed for many years. and cut the floor out as well so you can dump it harder.. I innovate, never imitate..

Congrats on the find. Cross that off your car related things to do before i die" list.
After you clean it up and check the plates to see what youve got on your hands youll get a better idea. Obviously a rust free body is worth good money, but a car that hasnt even moved in that long would take a fair effort to get fully functional again, if you were thorough about it. |

thanks guys, I got an e-mail from a friend who rents at the place and she said the old guy would rather not sell as he has owned it since new and wants to hold onto it for sentimental reasons. But then told he has a Monaro from new in another shed, not sure what model. Looks like I may need to do some sucking up.

Tell him sentimental is not the important part of it all. It was 8 years old when it was last registered. I couldnt imagine a 2001 VX Commodore or an AU2 Falcon being very sentimental these days?. It may be a magical find, and a genuine look may show the true amount of rust, as all cars rust from about 48 hours after leaving the assembly line. Dont make any promises you cant keep though. I had a quick look and feel on the EH around normal places for rust and couldnt see or feel any. This car is 600kms from the coast so has been out of harms way regarding salt. I will keep you all informed how I go.

A 1 owner Monaro thats been in a shed 600km from the coast its whole life?

I should have re-phrased the Monaro one, He purchased it from new and I dont know how long it has been unregistered in the shed. For the couple of people that made a genuine reply, thankyou. EHs are desirable, but not really rare, certainly not as rare as a Mitsubishi Colt or Datsun Sunny. Unregistered as is, $3-4000 would not be unrealistic. Once cleaned, polished, checked over and running reliably and well, even with some chrome dullness and paint wear, it will probably get a higher $6-8,000 if it was at a roadworthy certificate (Warrant of fitness) condition. If you get it for $6000-8000 its still a good buy. I just sold a stipped out premier shell with all its parts for $3000 but it required $10000 worth of panel and paint....so if that one polishes up i reckon youve stolen it.

I think the price depends on condition,but also how much someone is willing to pay for that particular car.I know its a broad scope but I would say thats more often the case....just my opinion.
