Whats in it now? VN V6 may work if it has a HQ-HW V8 one in it and you have an EFI 304 now.

Question ,can you run a 6 cyl cable on a V8 redirecting it thru the back way of the engine near the firewall and hooking it up to the top of the acc linkage? as they normally go all around the front in a big(ugly)loop.(roch /holley) Jim in Adelaide Edited by user Thursday, 5 November 2009 3:49:08 PM(UTC)

Gents
Surely theres a way of shortening and not replacing.
Dodgy way would be to use one of those screw on dodads from the bonnet cable.
Or maybe a more pemranent swaged on version somehow??
Any ideas??

I have had some accelerator and speedo cables made by ...http://www.autocables.com.au/ He has a really good workshop and would probably take him about 5 minutes to make you one to any length you want AND is reasonably priced. Without seeing your setup, i cannot see how a longer cable is even a problem if you have appropriate brackets mounted to ensure the cable is taut at both ends. I had a cable on my car that was probably 1 1/2 foot too long but worked fine for this reason, only changed it over for aesthetic reasons.

Better off fabricating a new mount for your standard off the shelf cable. If you run a modified one and the cable snaps while on a road trip youre a bit stuffed. Standard off the shelf cable you can walk into repco and get the right one nice and easy.
