Well I've finally bitten the bullet and am currently doing a complete respray of the J. I've even filled in the petrol filler to smooth the sides and fitted a new one in the tray behind the rear window. Hidden under the tarp of course.

I know that some models had paint on the headlight surrounds in a metallic grey. Mine has the remnants of it. Does anyone know whether there is any special process in painting anodised aluminium like they make the surrounds out of. I know paint doesn't stick very well on ordinary aluminium.

Also, does anyone happen to have any idea where to get the original colour or what it's called?

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers. bluHJ
