Have found under the house a pink (lilake) colour tailshaft. It has the numbers 14*9 painted on it in bold letters. The uni,s are 25.44 mm dia and it appears to be correct length for the M20 308 set up. Any ideas of model Holden this came out of?

The 14.9 is the 14th week of 1969 .All the tailshafts have them stamped in yellow paint normally on the tailshafts .
Not sure of the uni size off the top of my head, but If its Pink its a HK-T 307 Powerglide/Banjo . If its lilac like Violet it will be a Saginaw Late type 2 327 and HT /Early HG 350 type . These replaced the dark green tailshaft on HK 327s from April 1969 under warranty/recall .
Hope this helps.
cheers James

Thanks for the info. The car is to be a gts look alike or a "tribute" or "day 2 car". Don,t you love the yanks. Is it worth while preserving the 14.9 or just paint over. Thanks Rick

From memory pink is also HT/HG 253 Saginaw with banjo. I pulled one of these out of an original 253 4spd HG Kingswood that I rescued from demolition derby duty. The tailshaft is destined for an original HK 307 auto with banjo that is currently under resto.
