Hey all. Im in the process of gathering all my parts and getting them restored, reskinned and replated while the body is still getting cancer treatment.
Im thinking Winner Products for the seats and door trims as feedback seems to be very good for these guys. What I need help with is the stuff like the console, radio, dash, glovebox etc? Where is a good place to take this stuff (preferably close to Vic) Anyone know much about the Dashboard Doctor or Mobi-Tronics? Also the CHROME! I need all of it repaired and re-done. well mate, i dont want to sound cynical, but here is the deal
trim = hard, but winner prolly ya best bet
dash = hard, dean dugmore or mark goode, both in melb, both as bad as each other with the chrome and painting of dash, thats why we use a guy in QLD, believe it or not, its cheaper, easier, quicker to send in there, and its not a bad job actually.
dashboard doc = ok, AL is ok, but getting way way to expensive now, the process hasnt changed in 30 yrs, granted that labour/materials are more expensive, but not as much as the prices have risen, he is also getting fussier on cores.
chrome = TUFFEST CALL OF all even harder than paint and panel, get any of the dingbats to remove old chrome, then take to auto bling in braeside or there are 2 other old blokes i use, get them to repair and straighten etc, then good luck on who you want to use to replate. i will not recommend anyone.polishing dudes are also hard
sorry for being a bit of a cynic, but im only actually telling you the truth..now you know why we try do all our own stuff, and just farm out what we have too.

Would the guy in Qld be Patrick at Dash Revival, he has done a lot of dashes for me and does an excellent job in a reasonable time frame at a reasonable price. His chrome guy is on the Gold Coast and also does an excellent job on re-chroming. I just got another 4 HT/HG and a HQ LS dash back from him and the quality is still excellent.  He has new plastic ignition inserts for $25

Get your dash chromed... or vacuum metalized at Decor engineering.
