Hi guys can anyone help me out i have been trying to locate a sydney atkinson motors rear window sticker for the year of 1968 for my HK if someone has one on there cars if they could please post up a photo of it or send it by sms to my phone on 0414600032 that would be great thanks guys..

I thought I knew all the old Holden dealers in Sydney, but Ive never heard of Atkinson Motors. Did you get that name from the Log Book? What suburb of Sydney were they in?

His first name is Sydney & its located in Perth ? WA.

AMunro327 - Sydney Atkinson Motors was in Perth before all the skyscrapers went in. Not sure what year they shut down but Id guess it was the late 70s, anyone?

GMH 068 - I have one on the rear window of my HQ Statesman which says "Statesman by Sydney Atkinson" with the Statesman logo. Not sure what the standard ones looked like but will keep an eye out.

Rhys Id be keen to see a pic of that decal if possible?

I can also supply many many different dealership decals. Have heaps in stock. Heaps of images also that the art has not been done on. Also have a list of many people and what they are chasing. Joey I responded to your post on oldholden also.

Thanks for the info 65ehpv. Its a bit ironic that the Pheonix Holden ads on TV several years ago had the devil surrounded in flames...

I was going to say the same thing. I thought somebody was taking the p!ss, by saying that Sydney Atkinson had burnt down & it re-opened as Phoenix Holden. You couldnt write a better script.

Here are a few details I have on Sydney Atkinson Motors.

Sydney Atkinson Motors service station,
99-113 Adelaide Terrace, East Perth


SYDNEY ATKINSON MOTORS LIMITED MELVILLE
532-7 Canning Hwy Melville
Holden
Registered 1962

This is also the address of Melville motors which started as Sydney Atkinson Melville Motors Pty LTD
Then became
Melville Motors
Registered 1969
532-536 Canning Highway Melville WA 6156
and now it is
532-540 Canning Highway Melville WA 6156


SYDNEY ATKINSON MOTORS LIMITED was taken over by Winterbottom Holdings Limited on 19/12/1979.
I do have a few pictures of some of these places as well if anyone is interested.

Not sure on the fire side of things or the link to Phoenix Holden but Phoenix Holden was Registered in 1979
So I am not sure if this was all tied in to the AHG expansion which started around that time
or if it is not related.


At the HR time they were a big dealer over here going by the way they painted this on the
underside of the bonnet.

Sydney Atkinson leading GMH Distributers Holden-Viva
Sales Service Parts.
This was on a HR distributed by Sydney Atkinsons but sold through Melville motors.

I would be interested to compare notes with you other guys as to under bonnet and
rear window sticker details to.
This is the opposite end to the dealer code problem IE a dealer code but known name.
Here we may have a dealer name but no code to go with it.
The two together may help solve a few details.
