Something is only worth what someone will pay, be interesting to see if someone comes forward with that much money. Would be nice to know the best offer he gets, if an HK whel is any indication it should be about $8k.

Can view on this link. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/w...479600556&ru=http%3A%2F%
Well, he also has "make an offer". Is $10K out of the question? I have seen OK ones go for well over $1.5K. Everyone knows what these Monaro guys are like. Theyll pay 50% for the NOS bit, & the other 50% for the bragging rights.

Just think wack it on a rusty old ute, is the ute now worth $10100.00? Probrably not .Wack it on a micky mouse 81837 ht hg ,would it increase the cars value most definately, but by 10k thats a tuffie? This is assuming it sells for 10k.Id say it would be worth the most as is brand new never fitted, but desire is a strong thing and 10k is small change to some. ave a good one cheers--keeo

Funny he should mention alternative sources for other steering wheels, all whilst trying to get $10,000 for that one.I wonder if
you went to the states and brought back a few dozen that are nearly the same, then what?....sell sell sell..!

The only comparitve wheel to the HT HG black wheel in the States is a far shallower wheel. The boss assy from the States, to suit such wheels, even though the actual wheels are interchangable, is completely different. The Australian, GM-H boss assy, is only relevent to Monaro/Torana. Squint when you look at my interior image to the left.
With that in mind, this wheel is only a GM-H wheel, not US.

when MONARO and NOS are mentioned in the same sentance, then use your imagination for the price, cause some of that stuff is selling for big $$$

That wheel is brand new original. The asking price is in the ballpark for what it is. One wonders how many members on here have even seen a brand new original wheel let alone touched one? If I had an HT 350 I would buy it to complete my nut and bolt concours restoration. But I have an HQ 350 and I would just love to get a brand new original wheel for it. The pathethic attempt made by Rare Spares to suit HQs is an insult to both the cars and those who cherish them.

Funny how those who dont have a certain NOS part are quick to discredit anyone who has one and tries to sell it.

Good luck to the guy as I am sure he will find a buyer at the price he wants.

i think that you are a pathetic attempt by our creators as well; if it wasnt for Rare Spares, we would not be able to do what we like doing, our hobby is hard enough without bagging them. granted not all there stuff is 100% correct, but its better than nothing, especially in the line of sheetmetal.
im not sure where you get off on half the rubbish you post in here, but each and everyone of us has a differing view of things(as do you), so in you saying that you wonder how many have seen a steering wheel as such let alone touch one is totally unreasonable.
to you it may be worth what that guy thinks it is as well, and i respect that, but to me and many many others, its worth nothing even close, so dont tell us all in here that the figure he wants is gospel
end of the day, its a dirty old monaro steering wheel, not a BBC Tri-power carb linkage of a 435hp 67 vette

Sorry you couldnt read my post correctly. I was talking about a reproduction HQ steering wheel, not sheetmetal or other mechanical items. It is the cosmetic items that are the ones that dont measure up. Apologies for any hurt caused to you.

Hi there again, I was at Toowoomba swap over the last two days and the good news coming from the Rare Spares guy was that they will be assisting in the making of many new parts by the Chinese consortium who were mixed up with that new old parts company who have done some mouldings and sheetmetal. Until now Rare Spares were locked out of any deals. That has to be good news. On the HQ wheel front, TJ apologised for the present item and said that they were looking at doing all Monaro wheels as per original in the not too distant future. Hooray! I speak my mind and sometimes that offends. I dislike beating around the bush as it were.
