I asked this guy a Question....
Dear bonnie*sandman,
What are all the numbers to say that it is an original Sandman?

He replied....
just posted all the tags and numbers,,
- bonnie*sandman

I replied.....
Dear bonnie*sandman,
Sorry to say but it is not a Sandman, its just a base model with bucket seat option. All HX Sandman's had floor shift not column, full headlining in rear, interior light switches on door jambs etc. I don't see any GTS parts on it either. Good luck with your sale though.

He replied...
well mate I have rang Holden myself and gave them the ID numbers and they have confirmed that it is a Sandman.... So it will be your lose .... I have been offered over $40,0000 private so the guy that offered that knows for sure it is an Sandman... Thx
- bonnie*sandman

Why is it that all these guys that have been offered huge money for their cars never cancel the auction and accept the offer????? They really must be complete TOOLS......

If (Since) its not a real Sandman and it is being advertised as one. You could report him to eBay.

They will pull adds pretty quick these days.

EXACTLY.. this hiding the reserve SH!TS me to tears. All the reserve is there for is to protect the seller from not selling too cheap and getting ripped off. The only reason I can see to not tell people the reserve is you have put a huge crazy reserve on it just to see how high it will be bidded up to. But even then, people are only going to pay what they think it is worth.

hiding the reserve is just stupid in my eyes.. Am I missing something??

Shed be a prtty rare Sandman if it was one, a HX 6cyl auto XU3. Auto is rare. 6cyl is rarer. XU3 is even rarer again. My guess is one of only a handful ever built. But alas its not a Sandman.

Probably because they still exist, unlike Ford product of the same era which has mainly been recyclled into new Kias!

when you list it it clearly says in red *reserve not met*

when it reaches it it turn green and says *reserve met*

he is talking sh1t, when i was asked what my reserve was i told them what is was

Yep, my bad typing again. Seriously, how long since anyone saw an XA-XD van? Compare it to how many HQ-HZ seem to still be around and useable (not rusty pieces of junk that happen to have been Sandmans).

I saw an ad the other day showing 13" lh sl torana hubcaps for $150.00 saying they suited HQ-Z premier ,monaro etc. Informed them of their error with no reply.
I wouldn`t sell anything on ebay without doing some homework first if i wasn`t sure what the part was from , common sense really.

totally agree, just about zero of those XA-XD vans around, and ya dont even see that many XG XH vans around, or even other late 80s early 90s cars around anymore, but i still cant see the attraction to them, but each to their own i spose, maybe im living in the days when you used to rip all the factory stuff off them, put bubble windows in coz they where cool and john evans used to deck out the rears with CBs and crushed velour pinch pleat, it was easier then, long live vancraft

Maybe because they are iconically Aussie? They arent ever going to be worth what a premium performance late 60s to late 70s GMH vehicle will be (succession of vehicles from HK GTS327 through to A9X), so maybe its just people not wanting second best (SLR5000, 4 door GTS etc) and wanting something distinctly Australian and out there? Maybe it was just very good original marketing by GMH?
