G,day my fellow holden nuts ! This is my first time on the forum so please be gental.I have just recently picked myself up a very original HK wagon which i intend to do up over time as a clean stocky cruiser to park alongside my HQ 350 coupe(a lot cheaper to keep on the road too!)First project is the safety items brakes, bearings etc and some seatbelts, which brings me to my question. My kids are more important to me than they were in the sixtys so i need belts in the back but not too sure if there's any mounts for them just wondering if anyone has done this job and tell me the cheapest way to go about it. I have seen belts for sale on ebey in blue but at about $600 a set i can see the old girl will end up with black ones BUGGA!!! Any help would be appreciated[img][/img]

If traveling the inertia belt path, the angle & orientation of the reel is critical. i.e. the angle of, & which way the axis sits. If not correct for the reel you use, it will be ineffective when it is needed most.

How do you go if there is no existing fixings in the back for belts? Can you get away with reinforcing the correct locations with a strip of steel or do you have to get an engineer involved ?

The holes are already in the body behind the rear seat. But they are only for the lap belts. No lap sash for the back in 1968.

When I did mine on the cheap, I just got the middle lap bets out of some older Commodores. Then bolted them in to the holes that the factory put there. (Back seat belts were an optional extra) Buckles are not the same, but who cares if it isnt a show car??

Gday Sharpy,You should have a closer look, they may be under a strip of masking tape. Yeh theyre only a female thread in the floor youre looking for covered by a small strip of masking tape and if theyre 40 years old and been gathering all sorts of dust and rubbish maybe not obvious but theyre there. A nice new set of belts from the local auto parts will do the job and more than black would be available....all the best regards... Jack

ok found two fixings under the back seat for the middle fixings, cant see any fixing points for either side belts. Im thinking mabe you fix them to the bolts that hold the bottom of the seat back. Only other thing is there are holes that go through the wheel arch but dont seem to have threds in them mabe a bolt through them. Chris...
