The owner bought it as it was a nice car, but he has been known to wreck good cars at a whim.

Original owner had a stroke in 2007, so his wife sent the car to Gamers Auctions. A local car dealer enthusiast bought it and then not long after sent it back when a GTS became available. The auctions then sold it to the wreckers. It has a pink slip in the glove box from 1990 when it had 99,000kM on it. I spoke to the original owners wife and she said it only did a few thousand kM after 1990, hence its now having 108,000kM on it.

That is sweet. Good score Byron.
Theres something nice about a neat original non monaro/gts. Ive got a 8/75 Statesman deville straight from the grandpa zone. Only mod is driving lights on the front bumper. Engine runs silky smooth interior is almost perfect. Unfortunately theres a small bit of damage on the LHS and the Vinyl roof has started to crack over the last couple of years. It must have been stored in a carport its whole life cause 1 side is faded and has some crowsfeet happening but the other side is near perfect.

Take the vinyl roof off and paint it. Thats what I would do with this one if it was cracked. Paint it either the same as the body or another colour and finish at the separator strips.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Its Persian Sand Metallic with Chamois interior so the colour of the roof really suits it. Have you ever seen a textured painted surface to make it look like a vinyl roof without the obvious vinyl drawbacks?

Nice car, but $50k? There are a couple of really nice original but a few more kM HQ GTS coupes in Lone Oranger getting around for sale right now for that money, and a white HQ GTS350 on AMC for $65k...I suppose someone will buy it for its uniqueness though.
