Hi, i bought my HK GTS from NZ a few years back and im chasing the dealer it was sold from. The only thing i have to go by is that it has a dealer sticker on the rear window. It says CROWN MOTORS. I have tried to chase this info in both NZ and Aus. Has anyone heard of Crown Motors? thanks

Hi tanart.
There is a huge dealership in Hong Kong called Crown motors. AFAIK, back in the 60s & 70s they sold new Holdens.

if you look in the back of an early Owners Guide... say EJ or EH you will find a list of all Holden Dealers nationally at the time...
I dont have one on me so a quick google of crown motors holden came up with
Crown Motors in Lynnwood WA.... dont know if it helps but crossreferencing will narrow it down.. but the best guess is to check the early owners manual
cheers Al

I recall Crown Motors in Auckland, I think the suburb was either Ponsonby or Takapuna

Crown Motors sell Toyota and Lexus in Hong Kong today and were a Toyota dealer back in the late 70s/early 80s. Far East Motors Limited was the name of the Holden dealer in HK.
Crown Motors might have sold an used Holden or two but a GTS... Id be surprised. Google Crown Motors and look at their branding - I dont think it has changed much since the 70s. If the dealer sticker looks similar then either the car has a very interesting history or someone took a holiday in HK and visited the Toyota dealer for a sticker.
My Holden knowledge is pretty poor but HK Holdens I do know a bit about!

thanks Guys. I have the the names of all owners in NZ. Unfortunately the original owner passed away a few years back and the second owner (who owned the HK for 22 years) has gone walk abouts. I have his mobile and work place but no luck. OZCHEVY the Crown Motors in Auckland is probably my best bet. Ill try and email some local car clubs and hopefully get some answers. Thanks Again.

Just because it has a crown motors sticker does not mean it was sold there new.
I see Holdens with ford dealer stickers on them and fords with Holden dealer stickers. If they get traded and resold on the lot, they get a sticker.
Your car could have been the same.
