Gday all.

Just wondering your thoughts on suspension upgrade. I want to eventually redo my HQ with new springs, shocks etc etc and this can get pretty expensive on what you use i suppose. Whats everyones thoughts on a very good spring and shocks combo. Its quite low at the moment and want to raise it a little but not too high. Also are the front suspension rebuild kits on e-bay any good..???

Thanks
Michael.

Hi Michael,

I got my V8 HQ done via Pedders. They did a good job, just a but pricey. Their books are wrong too. So standard to me was about 3" too high. All rubbers done too, rides like a dream.
Cheers John

Not sure about the ebay stuff but I have used either pedders or kings springs in the passed and monroe GT gas shocks (had a wb with bilstein front shocks but not sure where the previous owner got them from as Ive written to them to get replacements and they dont reply - will have to call). The parts I have used as replacements have all been fine. I really like nolethane bushes to firm everything up too.
Ive always done the work myself as its pretty straight forward (as long as you have the time and tools) and saves a decent amount of money.. just need to get a wheel alignment afterwards if you are replacing the tie-rod ends - I would if changing the height too, just in case...
