Does any one know if any one makes power window motors for HJ etc holden or are thre any newer motors you can adapte to fit as now 2 of mine are dead lhf and rhr

Hi Glenn,

The actual motors for front and rear are the same IIRC. I assume (but haven't tried it) that you can pull them apart and fit new brushes/whatever.

Are you sure it is the motors and not the wiring or that the window mechanisms have seized f

they were originally sourced from the usa...still available new gm if you want to pay the money...www.usgmsp.com

only other thing that is different is the wiring arrangement for the plug...1 is a T... and the other is a 11 ARRANGEMENT...if you understand what im saying...

in my hj ive got elec windows and when i got it two of em didnt work so i checked all wiring and the wires going to those 2 motors had broken in the doors.
have you checked the wiring?
it may just be that.

Nah i pulled em out pulled the plug of one of the working ones plug it ino one of the "stuff" ones and neither worked :\ one of the motors the wiring inside the unit is stuffed as it blows the fuse when you press the up and or down button

well maybe you should take em to an auto elec or similar to see if you can get a rebuild/reco done to them.
if you could id be good to let me know how ya go cause i wouldnt mind getting mine rebuilt for when it gets back on the road.

Just found out can get new ones for $179 australian off the website classic oz wreck put up so im just going to get a cpl of new ones sorted

Just for comparison on what is expensive :)

We had a Hyundai Excel at work that had a wire in the front fdoor pinched in an accident and it caused the central locking to not work once the repair was finished. Apparently it pinched and shorted in a way

yeah thats bloody rediculous.
for a crappy non doing up cool car to.
thats enough money almost to get a hoppers stoppers brake conversion for my car, with engineers for the brakes.

what about 6 grand for a late model subaru 4wd wagon wiring harness...now thats ridiculous...2200 second hand..
