Rant mode ON There is not much we can do to keep money in Oz just about every decent sized company is foreign owned and whats not mostly get their goods manufactured in China or some other slave labour country. On a large scale we only have mining, farming and livestock. BHP is mostly owned by the Poms, Qantas is 49% foreign owned, most breweries are either Pommie or Kiwi, GMH & Ford and Arnotts are American, Electrolux is Swedish. I could make a very long list but I think you get the drift. If you want to get upset go to the supermarket and start reading where lots of our food is made, make sure you check out the lollies and Oreo biscuits to see where the junk we are feeding our kids comes from. In reality World War 2 was basically fought for nothing because the lessons learnt there have long been discarded by weak politicians with their level playing fields and other rubbish. Rant mode OFF. ps, ebay owns paypal. ....................................................... Reality is only an illusion which occurs due to a lack of alcohol. Supermarkets yes I was in Coles yesterday shopping for stuff for our Sons birthday party and the Wife went to grab some Ritz biscuits. I told her that they were made in China so she put them back and bought Jatz instead.

YOU ACCEPTED the terms and conditions when you signed up so dont go calling the winning bidder a knob because he chose to pay by any one of your accepted payment methods which he is fully entitled to do under the "Accepted Payments Policy". The "smart" sellers simply add the fees onto the start price and no one is the wiser....
Oh, and my previous post wasnt targeting you specifically although you seem to have taken it personally... perhaps because I used $10 for my example amount which was just a round number and not aimed at you. Why are you using Ebay if you dont want to give the USA money? Thats where all the Ebay fees youre paying are going.... you should be supporting the Aussie auction site..with no Paypal
As it seems you havent read Ebays policy here it is...
Misleading & Discouraging Payments
Sellers who state in their listing that they accept certain payment methods must not selectively offer those payment methods to buyers or discourage buyers from using those payment methods.
This means that sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have selected in their Payment Details section of their listing, and must not act in any way to discourage buyers from paying by these methods.
This policy is not only limited to communications made in listings, but also includes all correspondence between a seller and buyer that relates to an eBay transaction.
PayPal may also take action against sellers, in accordance with its User Agreement and applicable policies.
Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions including:
Listing cancellation
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Limits on account privileges
Loss of PowerSeller status
Account suspension

i still detest paypal, regardless. if i had a personal assistant to do my typing(it would take me a week to type it), i will tell you a story about paypal and a guy in perth and a genuine factory HQ muncie trans bellhousing and shifter that we sold to him, after you read it, i will assure you that you would NEVER use paypal again, even james would think twice about using paypal for seatbelts bought though ebay. anyways , i cant stand AMCS way of putting prices(or lack of prices in this case) on things, check this out: http://australianmusclec...719-hq-belmont-ute-5l-v8come on mike, get with the programme, its no red book here anymore. sorry ron for using your car, had to do it CHEERS!!! No offence taken we wreck. No price as there was nothing to guage a price off. Put it on monday night & sold it tuesday 9.00am to the first offer which was $3,500 to a bloke who wants to fix it up to use as a tow car for his purple HQ GTS coupe. I have bought and sold cars through AMCS and have nothing but praise for them but then again like ebay as I have been able to source parts from all over oz. Ron

I hate it when people dont get along :( eBay (USA) brought in a condition to use Paypal as the only payment method allowable. It was however over ruled by the ACCC in 2008 because under Australian Trades Practices act eBay were deemed to be Third Line Forcing - a practice of forcing a person to purchase or use a specific service for an item they purchased elsewhere. read more here - http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/816377Here is the notice of eBay withdrawing their forcing of Paypal for Australian customers; http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/823668eBay.com.au tells you all great things about Paypal etc, but sneakily avoids telling Australian customers they do not have to use Paypal service. Actually the Australian law states that Ebay CANNOT force you to use paypal. It is an offence against Australian law if they do so, and as they would like to trade in Australia they have to accept it. I also specify paypal only available to overseas buyers, bank deposit preferred. I have had one guy pay by paypal anyway, it destroys your profit margin on cheaper items as the ebay charges are a cost and it costs about $1 to take the money from the paypal account to your bank account. I told him the goods would be sent when the money cleared through paypal, and that it could take up to 21 days, and I would not post until the money was received, as I stated in capital letters in the advertisement, and offered to reject the paypal statement and post the goods if he paid by bank deposit. he paid by bank deposit and said he did not realise paypal was a such a nuisance to sellers, no hard feelings. one of the main problems with paypal apart from the costs is they can come in months later and take the money back, which is outrageous, and never believe the seller, even though the seller is the one paying their wages.

I have not had it happen to me but have heard of purchasers lodging a complaint with paypal after several weeks, paypathen take the money out of the credit card of the seller, this all takes time and may be a few months. a similar thing can happen with cheques. if you accept a cheque off someone and he subsequently goes bankrupt the receiver in bankruptcy can reclaim all cheques written in the past 6 months. he cannot apparently take back cash though. I dont know all the legalities of this, see your friendly accountant.
