a pair of 15 x 10 cheviot hotwires to suit HQ in mint condition is worth about $1800 - $2500 there are 3 types available from cheviot... you can tell by casting the early ones had no "cheviot" or "15 x 10" the second generation had "15 x 10" the later third generation had "cheviot and 15 x 10", so, i guess the earlier ones may attract a premium as they would be the period mag for the A9X. the 15 x 10 US racers are my avatar pic, and i have about 4 pairs of US racers in 15 x 8.5 left from the states for HQ / chev + pontiac and ford if your interested... I want to keep them as I have an idea to buy a 1970 Z28 one day, and these look great on them. ALso look great on the back of tonners with 275/60/15s on them. _______________________________________________________ If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords? |

Im guessing the answer is nothing...because the ones on ebay have gone from $8000 down to $3500....and Im pretty sure they will go lower....if they could prove some lineage they might get a bit of cream on top. You cant be down on someone for asking big dollars for their stuff...no one has to pay it.

Look at it this way boys, I sold a set of 5 second series A9X stock rally rims for $10000 to a bloke with 2 A9X sedans. He paid $8000 for the first car and $16000 for the second both without stock wheels so he was not to worried about paying a bit to get a set of stock rims in the overall scheme of things. In fact he was prepared to go to $30000 if I left them on auction.

in a nutshell jim,its because that style of wheel was on raced toranas so they are a cult collector part...14x10 in torana pattern are generally the cheaper of the 2 styles for the boys that have bolted the flares on there replica but havent changed stud pattern....15x10 in hq pattern is the size and style of wheel which was on most of the raced cult toranas and were for group c cars...so they are the dearest....and they also look good under bedford vans and 1 tonners.. going to church makes you no more a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car... www.classicozwreck.com.au |
