Hello all,
A couple of years ago there was a TV ad with a fellow working on his car.

His wife comes out to the garage holding a spanner and a rocker cover that she had removed from the dish washer.

She asks what they are and he answers then she clocks him in the head with the spanner.

I went for a search on utube for a Repco ad but found nothing like it.

Was it actually a repco ad or is my memory failing me hence the not being able to find it on Utube.

Jim....

yep sure was repco

there was a series of ads, my favorite was the V8 door bell, they even started selling them in there stores, so i brought 1

another add the guy puts sunscrean on the lower half of his legs while his confused wife looks on, it then shows him in the driveway under the car with only his legs hanging out

it was a good series of adds, it would have been about 4 years ago

OK thanks Ill search a bit further. A friend in the US was talking about how good a parts washer a dishwasher makes and I would dearly like to show him that ad but I just cant find it.

I think the slogan was "Repco, cars are our lives too"

I bought a friend of mine one of those V8 doorbells for Christmas.

Jim, I might be getting the ads mixed up, but I vaguely remember it. If this was the ad with the guy sitting outside his garage next to a red HK 327 you should ask Silverfox on here.

Yep I think that you are right he was underneath the car when she accosts him about the shiny things.

After she donks him on the head his response of "fair enough" cracked me up every time.

Wasnt a repco add. It was for a dishwasher chemical. finish powerball or something like that. Spanner and a v8 rocker cover. Was a fantastic add that got pulled because it showed the wife hitting the hubby on the head. Political correctness stupidity strikes again.

Another hard one to find was the early 90s BMW ad that stated that the car was designed to be recycled into something completely different within 15 years.

They were trying to get the environmental message across by stating that the car was built entirely of recyclable parts. However the ad didnt last long in Aus because a car costing that much should last longer than 15 years max.

I found a Jap version of the ad once.
