Man I wish I had gone to some of those old dealership sales in the early days.

I was gunna stick it on the HK Premier or the HK Brougham but apparently the "ROSEWOOD" ones are GTS only.

HK parts catalogue says it suits...

535 Prem wagon
569 Prem sedan
737 GTS Monaro
1469 Brougham
1837 GTS 327
Automatic choke models.

It will suit HK V8 Premier or Brougham with T-bar. AFAIK all HK Brougham T-bar, all HK GTS plus all T-bar V8 or 186S HK Premier should use the same surround. I have a NOS 6cyl Premier one with CHOKE written on it where you see this one is blank as it belongs to an auto choke car (V8 or 186S).

A 186S 3-speed column shift manual HK Premier would also use this facia.

On the HK the auto indicator clips on and is seperate part, so would suit any 535, 569 with 186S or 5 litre plus all 1469, 737 and 1837.

These were for sale in the 80s for $35 each at rares. Non woodgrain for about $25

I know GMH likes to use the same part over different applications and models, but surely for the high end models which this was meant for why wouldnt they have just not punched the choke hole.

We had a HK 307 column auto Prem from new and the first thing that went was the dummy from that hole, the old man put a lovely rose patterned drawer knob in there so he could hang his small change bag off it. When I eventually got that car you can guess what I turfed first, lol.

Thats what I said - "all T-bar V8 or 186S HK Premier".

Warren is correct - I forgot about the clip on column auto indicator, so the statement should be "all HK V8 or 186S Premier".

I reckon this brings up an interesting question though.

If we all run down to the Holden clearance sales etc and buy up on all the stock they unload, will it do the same in 40 years?

A part costing "$35.00" in the 80s worth $1500 in 2010?

Thats better than realty

Yes if you were buying up say VN - VS stuff now, in 15 - 20 years time it will be worth a small fortune. A few years ago you saw plenty of this stuff at swap meets for next to nothing.
