Hi all

I've been on the forum know for about 6 months and I've never got around to posting pics of the G.

So because everyone here's put up with my stupid questions and helped with advice and, in some cases, some invaluable assistance, I thought I'd start a post and add some to it from time to time.

Bought the G from Brisbane in September 2009. It was almost complete and needed some finishing off prior to rego and cruising.

Of course, because of the length of time it had been sitting still since it's rebuild (almost 6 years) it was leaking fluids from everywhere and I had to pull the engine to fix it.

So since the engine's out.....

Anyway, this is how it was up in Brisvegas in September.

Stay tuned

Cheers

Jeremy

So after much picking of the brains of this forums members, (and using their not inconsiderable skills in some case - thanks guys!!!!!) the G currently looks like this....

Up on stands and the front end/driveline disassemled - think Im going backwards!!!!

Found out removing the engine, gearbox and front end isnt that hard when youre helping someone who really knows what theyre doing - thanks Jim!!! Engine has had all the gaskets and seals replaced (thanks Mick :))and the blocks been painted. Just got to get the covers painted and all the bits back on...

Front end and steerings had the Dr Terry once over and thumbs up!!! Need to give it a bit of a tart up now as well....

And while the engines out, might just get rid of those scratches and fill the holes left by a couple of attempts to fit the wiring harness - Ill make sure I get the gromet in a better place this time!! Need to move the battery tray, cold air box tray and install Commodore washer & overflow bottles so I can get the thermo fans on (am I mad!!!).....

Bit of bracket removal and fabrication to get this baby on. And then work out how to control it properly....

Sort out the fuel system for the fuel injection (flow, return and breather to the carbon canister...)

Bolt the dash and steering column back in - after Ive restored it that is....

Thats really all Ive got to do :)

Should have it finished before I retire!!!!

Oh - and I just realised how easy it is to get stuff re-zinced..... after youve pulled it all to bit and tried to remember how it goes back together and which bits go where!!!

Keep you posted.

Cheers

Jeremy
