Any Torana experts out there know how to tell what dash I would have had in my SS Hatch? Silver or Woodgrain? Probably doesnt have much to do with it but trim code is 1886-18X, I know it's Absynth Yellow with Slate Black cloth inserts (herringbone in this case). I bought the car as a rolling shell full of boxes of parts but not much in the dash department. No documentation either. Edited by user Tuesday, 23 March 2010 10:47:44 AM(UTC)

Testing the memory, but im pretty certain all SS should be silver. I think it was only the SL/Rs that got woodgrain in LX for a period.

Thanks Byron, I had an SS Hatch back in the late 90s and that was a complete woodgrain. I think you could order what ever you wanted and without the build sheet I have a feeling Ill never know. I like the Silver dash anyway, I just thought there might be a way of finding out.

I still reckon all SS were silver.

Yes, Byron is correct.
In the LX series all SS & SL/R models had silver dash facias & all SLs had woodgrain. S had black.
In the LH series it was more complicated. S had black, SL & SL/R had woodgrain, except for the SL/R 5000 which had black.

The correct paint name is Portland Grey Metallic. Code 577-04045
A good paint supplier should be able to mix you up a batch!
cheers Mick
