Hi all,
I bought a radiator hose set from a well known Tractor dealer in Wagga but when I recieved the hoses I found that these were a one size fits all, ( which they don't )

I rang the seller and he he treated me like a lepper and in no way would accept that there were two destinct sets of hoses for this type of Fordson tractor and this was the wrong one he eventually said fine send the offending item back, so as wer were on;y discussing the bottom hose I did precisely this, think I had to pay postage though, so lost this.
The seller gave me a full refund and as I was out of pocket for two lots of postage I thought we were about even, and thought that was an end to it, next thing I learn that I have been bared from purchasing anything further fron that seller.

I contacted the seller and asked what the problem was and the guy was quite rude and said that he had given a full refund and I had only sent one of three hoses ( the largest by far )and I explained that was what we discussed and he got even more polite, so we got no where and he finished by saying that there was only one set of hoses for those Fordson tractors, I explained that if it had been the later model hoses then they would indead be suitable for both, but the set he sent me was the early one and suitable for the early tractors only, he still would not accept this despite telling him I am a mechanic and had worked on these tractors for over 30 years, still got nowhere.

I tried a couple of times later when trying to get more parts and in no way would he remove the bolck on me buying.

What was I supposed to do as far as

Hi again,
This time I want to say what a raw deal I have had with PayPal,
To start with all was fairly alright apart from the above, payments were easy to make and sellers appreciated my prompt payments, though some apeared to be jacking up the postage rate when they thought the Item sold too low, but as these crafty people did not give an aproximate postage rate until the bid had been sucessful, there was little room for discussion on postage without recieving bad feed back.

When I had reached a certain level of purchases by paying from my credit card I was sent a message that I could only continue buying on Ebay if I supplied my bank details ( after checking that this was a genuine Ebay message )

I complied as there seemed no alternative, then I found that the payments then came straight out of my Bank account and as I am on a dissability pension, this does not suit me at all!
I contacted Ebay/ or Paypal only to be told that was how it was, but if I wanted to change the payment option I could change it so money was payed from my credit card account again.
With some messing around I worked out how to do this and after three times I was blocked from doing this again!
Over about twelve months I tried with varing suscess to contact them to sort it out, so eventually I have had to bar Ebay from removing any money from my bank account, so this means I can't buy without delays sorting out money orders etc, and I fear that my feed back has suffered as a result.
I have tried a few times to get them to change the payment settings, but they are not willing to help me at all, and I am Pizzed of!

Mike

Mike, you might have to can that ebay account and start another one using a different credit card and email address. AFAIK sellers can not give neg feedback, so let him have it.

bear in mind that most sellers prefer you paying direct into their account this saves them paypal fees.
but remember that if it is a large amount of money paypal is better because if the item is a dud you can get paypal to reverse the payment which you cannot do with direct transfer.
I always get the seller to give price for postage beforehand this saves surprises and they are obliged to stick to it.
you always have several days to contact the seller, no excuse.

There's two sides to every argument & with ebay the two sides are the buyer & the seller.

When ebay first started it was very much biased towards the seller. If the seller was a 'rip-off' merchant then the buyer got a raw deal. Very hard to police this in cyberspace.

Now the tables have turned. Buyers are acting like spoilt school kids & getting away with unreasonable demands & yet the seller can't even give the buyer a negative.

I've bought & sold heaps of stuff on ebay, & had very few negatives either way. As a seller I often found the charges to be excessive, but as they say 'if you don't like it don't use it'. The old Trading Post has now shut up shop as a viable alternative

Paypal was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It was just one more way for ebay to screw extra money out of the seller.

I no longer use ebay to sell because of the way I was treated by Paypal. I sold some bits to a young guy in Melbourne, the price was good, he got a good deal, he paid Paypal, received to goods & Paypal credited my account. Done deal !! Or so I thought, a few days later I had found that Paypal had taken the money back.

There was no complaint from the young guy about the goods, the price or the delivery, but apparently had had used his Mum's credit without her permission, to pay into Paypal. How am I supposed to know that, they took the card, they would have authorised it. Did I get a chance to authorise Mum's credit card, NO. But apparently the Mum wanted her money back, so I lose. He got the goods I didn't get the money.

What can I do? Have you ever tried to make contact with a proper human at ebay. It's then that you realise that it's a phoney US company, incorporated in Switzerland or somewhere similar with no real existence in Australia. The sooner they go broke or die, the better.

Thank you Paypal, thank you for your efficient service, NOT !!.

Dr Terry

I agree with Dr T, it's a WOFTAM. My wife recently bought an item and paid by paypal, the item was dodgy so she contacted the seller and asked for a refund, seller said OK send it back which she did. He's got it and we've heard nothing from him for 2 months, my wife has traced the article and even got the name of the person who signed for it. She has put a refund request through paypal twice now still no money, got me stuffed how everyone say's paypal can suck the money back, ain't happening here that's for sure.
