Its with a heavy heart we are selling our genuine HX LE :(

What are they worth?

Info: It was sandblasted and repainted 10 years ago (bin in shed ever since and polished every 6mths) we have 99.9% of parts, all excellent condition but not fitted to vehicle.
Just had motor rebuild and converted to unleaded, being put back together as we speak.

what is it worth to sell in pieces? motor will be in it.
Needs exhaust system and a few rubbers to complete. Paint is immac and all interior is there other than carpet I think

also have original owners books, compliance plates, etc
was told the motor was matching numbers to vin from factory.
have a letter from holden to confirm vin is a hx le, etc

also has personlaied QLD plates
Any ideas?

$15,000+ unfortunatley LE coupe`s dont pull GTS money , as a project car with most of the hard work done I think over $15,000 is achievable but under $25,000, but you never know your luck. put it on ebay with a reserve price.

about 8 years ago i purchased an hx le which had been stolen and rebirthed many years before..it had all its correct hx le parts bar the tags and was a clean rust free coupe..this was before the muscle car price madness and i payed $5500 for it purely to wreck...i kept tabs on everything i sold and in 1 year it wrecked to 16k and i still had some insignificant parts left...the body shell back then i sold for 3.5k...
with the price of parts now it would wreck to well over 20k but would take around a year to achieve that sort of figure as you would be asking top bucks on everything..

now saying all this 15k to 20k should be achievable as an unfinshed project...or you could wreck it for the same or better figures..

If the ID plates havent been removed I reckon youll get $20k for it. If theyve been off maybe $15k - it seems to make that much difference nowadays. You never know though, it only takes one buyer and people pay silly things sometimes on Ebay.

bolt it tgether then, some people are lazy and just wanna buy them,im not knocking them ,just saying.thet have good money aswell..if its all matching numbers and i mean ALL ,I dont think the tags being removed are that big a deal, its when they dont seem to match that bothers most people,as Byron says it can make a difference to some.ebay is your best bet 2 million viewers.15-25k

i wasnt saying you should... i was only pointing out what can be done versus selling complete....

but on your description pending seeing the quality of the parts i would probably pay 12 to 15k and wreck it rather than putting it back together...

in todays money for good quality parts it would be a faster way than putting it together to get 30k...

as for matching numbers ive got an ls350 which ive had for sale at 25k,complete correct and an easy resto and im seriously considering pulling it apart...sometimes they are worth more in peices and less headaches...more abuse from the purists tho..

just to add to values of these sort of cars, was out today and a few friends, we had the traditional lunch and gossip, followed by a gelati on a beautiful melb afternoon(spoke with greg as well on the phone, that was my highlight..hahah)one of them has purchased a HQ GTS coupe, 2 owner very original 253 4sp, for $12k,and we went out today and bought all the stuff for BBC/glide conversion, strange rear end, 15 x 12in convos, car will be 3/4 clipped in rear, tuff streeter, wont even need full paint, just a touch up around the rear fenders from where he extends the wheelarchs, thats how clean it is, so yeah, GTS coupe or LE coupe, aint worth squat to me in original form

gift wrap it in bows, offer him and his mrs a return airfare to new caladonia every year for the next 7 yrs, offer to do his lawns, even bribe the finance broker with 7 pure virgins and all the fresh fruit and vegetables for eternity, do whatever it takes, but dont let that this buyer go..
