Hello historians
Would a new HG arrive from the factory with paint on the door hinges, or would they have been just plated?
Cheers
Jeremy

Youre right itch.
I meant the bolt heads not the hinges.
Does that change the answer??

The body shells were painted with the doors hung on. The door hinge bolts are painted. There is no body colour paint under the hinges where they touch face to face with the pillar and the door shell. If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |

yep , what Pete says is true , I suppose it all came down to door alignment (just do it once) would have been hard to paint like that in 2k , but thats how they did it with the old acrylic paint! CHEERS!
