Maybe people like their plumbers vans and utes because they had all the same running gear as a Monaro but they could use them for a work vehicle and then use them again on the weekends? Sure had a lot more street cred than a 70s hilux. I dont find the HK/T/G Monaros all that interesting but see why people love them. I think a LX A9X is a heaps nicer 2 door but as has been said, each to their own.
The main point is they are all nice Holdens.
