Hi to everyone I have just started to get in to my ford v8's. I have decided to build up a xd xe ute or sedan and I have bought a 302 cleveland engine which needed alot of work but it was a bargin. I have striped the engine down to a bare block, and the engine number is one that the SA police have never seen before. Just wondering if anybody has an idea on the numbers?
the number is on the block in this order D2AE CA
26H1

That is not the engine number, thats the casting number mate
The engine number is locatd to the right of the distributor on a slightly angled part of the block . It will read something like JG 123456 K

26H1 could be 26/8/1981 date.
But your engine number. is at the front passenger side, above the fuel pump. hidden under the air con compressor. on the side of the block.
