Whats the go when ya get a flat.Ive been told you cant drive more than 50 meters or it buggers the side wall?So how can ya tell when its going flat fast? By the time ya realise its ya tyre and not the wonky road surface you are up for a new tyre. Im no stranger to aflat and all have been repairable except this time.any ideas .50 meters is buggerall.cheers--keeo

So has anyone had a flat on a low profile tyre and hasnt had to buy a new one? The conclusion im coming to is its really costly to have a puncture .Can someone shed some light on low pros and punctures ,are they at all repairable? thanks--keeo

What do you call low profile? A lot of cars have 45 and 40 series. But for an EH 60 series is considered low profile! In regards to repair or replace. If any puncture is at all in any part of the sidewall, then it cannot be repaired, even if it is a pin prick. If the tyre is driven on for a long enough time to chew the inside of the tyre, then it is gone. This is not an exact 50 metres. It is assessed when the tyre is taken off the rim. You might drive 500 metres and the tyre is not chewed inside. Who knows without looking inside. If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |

Low profile(40/50 series etc) are a performance tyre. They are not able to cope with being driven on flat. No tyre really can. It would depend on how lucky you are as to how far you get before they are rubbish.
