My opinion is...return both cars to there PLATED CONDITION by selling the 350 ,t350 ,9",but get as close as you can to time period mechanicals and paint.Lots of people want all that running gear you have and thatll cover most of your outlay, then youll get more when you sell your ute....just my opinion....jim,..or buy a mockup gts 4 door body and put the running gear in that and sell it of ,,,lots of dollars for a 350 runner that looks the same as a gts 4.Again this is if you can be bothered to do it,as it is time consuming and the long way for a few extra dollars, but good practice for your builds...!

I agree with jim, going original is where the money is, collectors mostly want standard restored cars.

my opinion
sell them both as is, still get reasonable dollars for them both as they are, noy headache of building them, then go out with a fistfull of dollars and you can buy the best sandman/monaro/ute in Australia for what you want to pay for it, turn key, drive away enjoy, not what the seller is asking or ebay value or forum value, but closer to your value, especially if you have dollars ready.

this is my opinion only and will differ to most in here and thats ok, and i have told this to many a prospective restorer in the same situation as you are in, some have followed and never been happier and kiss my feet when they see those that have not followed my idea crying, cursing, swearing and wishing they had listened to me 5yrs ago..
PS i know of a very big private collection which will be coming up of auction soon..stay tuned.

Id sell the van as it is, and fix up the ute. HQ Kingswood Sandman ute is the way to go in my opinion. Restore it to look standard but keep the 350 in it. Franks idea has great merit though.
