Has anyone tried the HK on a HT? I believe you have to make some modifications but am unsure exactly what? Also there are a number of people selling them - are they all from the one supplier (just different retailers)?

you can only buy the one for the HK and if you look closely at pic 3 above, you will see where it must be trimmed to suit taillight on HT and HG.

The complete job could look better if fitted with the new floor pan that was approved for production at Rare Spares yesterday. These will be available soon.It includes the fitment studs for the tank bolts.

ok then, well if they have been made from NOS parts, tell me why the XY hoods are junk, the rad supports are also not correct, doorskins for XR-Y are wrong where the handles bolt on, but the front gaurds are ok, how can you get stuff so wrong if you guys are using NOS stuff?
i was at a certain shop the other day and the well known metal man is restoring a 302 Boss mustang for a customer and they had purchased some replacement panels for the car from Dynacorn, and let me tell you, if they got the mustang hood and doors so wrong, got no hope with all our stuff.
on a positive, the beaver and sills that we got gor the HG were ok, albet being extrememly painfull to get them down to us, lucky its a long term project and we have time on our side as id had to be waiting on freight from QLD to Melb..was hard.

It will be very interesting to see how these parts fit. I havent seen a single repro panel yet that matches the original. Until they can match the original material used to manufacture the panels then surely the amount of spring back after pressing will vary.

If someone can clarify this it would be helpful too. Rumour has it that due to the expected runs of Holden repro panels being in the thousands rather than hundreds of thousand, the dies are not made from steel but from concrete. The life expectancy of the concrete is far less but far cheaper.

Of course low volume production panels are made from fibre reinforced concrete. That is not a rumour. A steel die can cost hundreds of thousands, so realistically unless more than 10,000 are made of a part, then it is not economic.

It is so obvious that the concrete dies will wear.

all from the same dude alex, just shop arond and see who gives you the best deal and doesnt promise too much of the entire universe.
the rear quarters patch panels(which i havent posted pics up)are from rare spares, they come in 2 pieces and require a bit reworking to get them close enough for the bodyline to resemble HKTG lines. the wheel arch are is also not correct, but still better than a flat piece of steel as even NOS stuff still requires reworking.
ill put some pics up of the LH rear quarter repair

Thats what lots say about replacement panels - poor fit. I was thinking of using the arse end from a HT sedan (as wheel well is rusted out also) for the beaver/rear quarters/wheel well? Unsure if it is achievable?
