this car listed on ebay as factory 307 , but tags are 80737 , I thought a 307 Monaro should have 808 tags??

its correct only ht,hg had 80837, the hk gts were 80737 on 6 or 8 unless it was the 327.

As above. All HK, not just GTS had V8 and 6 cylinder as the same model designation.

180 degree out, pull number 1 spark plug out and turn the motor over by hand until the piston is right at the top this is top dead centre, then pull the cap off and see it the rotor is on the dizzy mark and the rotor and dizzy mark is pointing at the front drivers side head light.
