hey every one
i was just wondering how hard it is to put a T5 into a vk and whats involved in putting one in.
is it a big job or not?
would putting a 4 speed in be better?
its got a 202 with a trimatic auto atm.

Hey everyone.

But a T5 would be more fun!
As i have just put a Borg Warner 5 speed (from a VH 186) into my VK and knowing that it is not a strong box and my driving style is somewhat on the heavy side I would too also like to know what is involved in fitting a T5 into a VK 6 cyl.
I know it would probably be easier to fit a celica or supra 5 speed(whatevers suitable) but Iam interested in doing something different. Hence the interest in the T5 fit.
Like is there any cutting involved - gear stick placement?
Can a V8 T5 be converted to 6 cyl?
Tailshaft best suitable?
A different starter motor required?
Bellhouse kit available?
Are differnt models available and which is the best to use?
Common problems wth T5s to look for when buying 2nd hand?
That sort of thing,

Have a look at Micks site www.brockcommodores.com.au (I think). Go to the technical articles part and there is lots of good info about putting a T5 in.
