Very subjective. I reckon being a HQ it would pull more than equivalent HJ-HZ, and cars like this one in HJ-HZ seem to pull $6,500 tops. So maybe $7,500? Just a guess. If it was rust free and unrepaired and a 308 itd pull $10k.

There was one for sale in Melbourne around 12 months ago in absolutely as new original condition, it was described as a museum piece and was extremely hard to fault. It eventually sold for $12k.

wow mate if it doesnt have much rust in it i would be very very interested. before i got my wagon i had been looking for one like that for 3 years. either i was looking in the wrong places or they are very hard to find in good condition. looking at that interior which looks original just gives a big WOW factor it looks pretty good. i would be offering 7-8 grand for that if i had the money but as youve said the bloke wants 10k which well s**ts me because there is work that is going to have to happen = money. take into account rust and mechanical prices then take that off the 10K i suppose. it looks very nice annyway and i hope you get it and get luckier then i did because they are definately going to go up in price and are extreeeeeeeeeeeeemly hard to find in good condition.

i agree with byron 110% as in melb this car would make $5500-$7k and would probably do better if it was 308 car. forum member monarosteve just sold his GTS4 for low or mid teens from memory(cant recall exactly, maybe $14k) and it was in pretty good nick as well, so really who knows, some dude may wanna pay $10k for this premier, and good luck to them
nice ride though.

Mr Lunchbox.

If you can find me an HQ V8 Premier in that condition for "2500-3000 tops", can you find me one & I will give you a $500 spotters fee for your trouble also.

Your values are out of touch in this day & age. An engine rebuild or a basic paint job can easily exceed $3000 in todays money.

Dr Terry

Only my opinion and its hard to tell by looking at photos but I really doubt this car is worth more than 6k. By the time you fix the rust in that door and the dogleg (looks more like the wheel arch though), then work out if your going to do about painting these areas or the whole car it will end up owing you more than you think. Still a great car considering the age of it though.

Frank, I ended up getting $14500 for my HQ GTS/4 that was probably in worse condition than this premier but did end up selling it with a lot of good spares.

oh well, i got it wrong again, this time only by $500, not as per usual $10k hahaha, dunn matter though, really up to what someone wants to pay for the premier i spose, and like i said, good luck to them, lucky steveieboy, you got out in the nick of time with your GTS
lately i been conversing with a few "flippers" in the trade and the general consensus is that things have pulled back significantly in regards to values of cars as such. you will still get the enthusiasts that thing their car or similar is worth heaps, but in realistic terms it is tight now, although good cars still sell easier than others but still at a more sensible figure.
i spose you have to go by the current trends of the way things get valued these days, be it ebay value, forum value, and mates value, but then there is the clincher, and thats real value, but all ya need is one duck and your still larfing

Yeah prices started to get shaky in the leadup to the GFC, but the fact is there is still a lot of money out there in the hands of people who will spend it on the right car. Plenty of cashed up bogans in the mining industry still. Hell, even my missus who only cleans tables and floors on site is pulling over 3 grand a week.

No need to shave your legs, kitchenhands are on the same dough and are all male. Just look for jobs in the Pilbara, preferably with construction companies subcontracted to BHP

I do think quite a few cars are over valued (well more than I would be willing to pay) but in the same respect where are all these desperate sellers flogging off cars cheaply? Still yet to find one. With regards to the Premier, offer him what you think its worth and just see what happens. If the car sits unsold for a few months the sellers valuation might start declining.

Oh and Ill get on the 3k a week cleaning job too! We can road trip it up there together Frank to save a few bucks before we make our fortune!
