G'Day,
Does someone have the paint code formula for rocket red so my painter can mix it. Or can you get it from your local Repco?
Cheers in Advance

Are you painting an EH red engine? This place has been supplying a very good match to the original. Ring them to get the latest factual info on what brand they supply and what type of paint. Theres two of them. Engines - HK Rocket Red 10890 Engines - Rocket Red (MK II) 31036 Google around and try to find some more info, I had a quick look and noticed that everyone was unhappy with the VHT branded paint colour. . . . . either that or contact www.nasa.gov/

Yes, it is called Rocket Red, even though it is orangey, but not as orange as Chevy orange.
GMH - HK Rocket Red 10890
Take a chip of Rocket Red to an automotive paint seller and get them to match it.

Hear just on about the motor colours i do believe that the HJ HX motors were painted with a clear coating that pealed off first leaving the paint under it OK. So what is the go with that stuff.
And i am sure that when remembering back in the 70's. my sister's HK 186 and my brothers HQ 173 motor colours were slightly different the HQ was slightly lighter then the HK. but my HR was a lot darker fire engine red. my mum's HJ had the flaking clear coating paint, it would bubble up first then flake and i have only seen that happen from the HJ's. but i have never seen a EH to HQ do that. I think the HK to HG chev motors were a bit darker red then the HQ chev that were more orange looking, HK-G look like a 302 XC falcon rocker covers.
