Guys,

Can someone please inform me whether the linkages on the HG were gold anodised or silver anodised?

Anodising is only for aluminium and its alloys (and a few other metals such as titanium). If you are talking about the steel accelerator linkages they are cad plated and passivated with a gold chromate. As it is hard to find anywhere to cad plate these days, many people use zinc plating with a gold/yellow chromate passivate. Cad plating has better corrosion resistance and is flatter than zinc on like parts, so to reproduce the cad look with gold zinc you can plate with a lower level of brighteners and don't highly polish the part before plating.

I think, dont quote me,but they were also just a natural finish, maybe if your after a better look you can polish them, just my opinion(failing memory and i didnt see too many!)...jim

If you're talking about Saginaw floor shift linkages, weren't the rods etc. a black metal finish.

The throttle linkages & rods etc. were a gold passivated finish.

Terry, i have a HG 350 GTS with powerglide. The current accelorator linkages are silver. A mate is restoring his HT 350 GTS manual and his are the gold colour.

As i have the donk out ans stripped, i thought i would send parts off to be cad (thanks DCOE) platted, but would like to know what part gets what colour

Lots of parts are gold cad, from linkages, to hose clamps.
